| So the attempt to switch away from clip-on shoes for the drivetrain I am posing the question of what type of Booties should we compensate for? I am only guessing that the driver will be using at most 5mm shoes, however should we design the pedals in such a way to accept molded booties or just flat bottoms? | |

| I think the pedals should have adjustable straps so that they can work for everyone regardless | |

| Straps are the best way to deal with it, variable size and all that. | |

| Remember they have to detach when the Navy Divers rip you out... May be go with those sweet spring straps you can exchange out on your Dive Fins. | |

| I dont think getting your feet out of them is going to be a huge deal, I was thinking of just a simple bike pedal type strap, I'm not sure what you're thinking of. | |

| Some thing custom made kinda...we have the shoe sleeve on a bike pedal, but also attach the spring straps that go on the back on your fins to make sure u always have bootie to pedal contact | |

| No, something simple, like a relatively thin piece that just goes across the pedal (think of a wake-board or a pro-cyclist). It just holds the foot there, but isn't hard to get out of or in to. Like slide sandals (your foot just slides into it and slides out of it). | |

| If your foot slides out, it wont be as difficult to keep peddling. Unlike the clip-ins. | |

| Exercise bikes have these simple straps - your foot (w/ booties and all) just goes into it. It simply keeps your foot from sliding off and away from the pedal. It isn't adjustable, there's no big issue with needing to adjust as it just hangs there. It might be easier to draw what I mean or find a picture... Enjoy that. | |

| That one happens to be adjustable - we don't need to make it adjustable, but we could. | |

| Yeah...we have an exercise bike in the house with these on them....those straps can be a pain and you wouldn't want that getting caught in the sprocket chains...anyway I've been looking at more mountain bike-ish type pedals (toe-clips). (not the clips we had last year)
like these.

| Well, if there is no excess slack, they shouldn't get caught in the sprocket chains. Also, the toe clips look like they will cost money. | |

| Not too expensive and we have the money. Not really worried about money until we actually have to fly out to SD | |
